Mission: To produce competent, bold, articulate engineering graduates and to conduct relevant and innovative research and development for the social, economic and intellectual growth of the Caribbean region.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering continues to lead local research and innovation in the area of the steel pan. In 2007, under the leadership of Professor Brian Copeland, the Genesis Steelband Project Team was awarded the Chaconia Gold Medal for this activity.
