Setting up Internet Explorer on your computer
On the Staff Network
- Start Internet Explorer
- On the menu bar, select: Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN
Settings
- Check the 2 boxes in the section “Proxy Server”
- In the “Address” box, type: 192.168.20.191
- In the “Port” box, type: 3128
- Click “Advanced”
- Check the box “Use the same proxy server for all
addresses”
- In the “Exceptions” area, type: *.admin.uwi.tt; osrs.uwi.tt; osrs.cits.uwi.tt; 192.168.*; intranet.uwi.tt;
*.sauwi.uwi.tt
On the Student Network
- Start Internet Explorer
- On the menu bar, select: Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN
Settings
- Check the 2 boxes in the section “Proxy Server”
- In the “Address” box, type: 192.168.224.5
- In the “Port” box, type: 8080
- Click “Advanced”
- Check the box “Use the same proxy server for all
addresses”
- In the “Exceptions” area, type: *.admin.uwi.tt; osrs.uwi.tt; osrs.cits.uwi.tt; 192.168.*; intranet.uwi.tt;
*.sauwi.uwi.tt
Mail Applications
When
setting up mail applications use:
Incoming
mail server: apollo.eng.uwi.tt
Outgoing
mail server: apollo.eng.uwi.tt
Setting
up Netscape Navigator on your computer
Please note that Netscape Navigator is NOT compatible with several Microsoft
products as well as several applications used in the University
of The West Indies.
- Start Netscape Navigator
- On the menu bar, select: Edit>Preferences
- Expand the “Advanced” section
- Select “Proxies”, select “Manual proxy configuration”
- Enter 192.168.20.191
in the first 5 boxes (port 3128)
- No Proxy for: *.admin.uwi.tt;
osrs.uwi.tt; osrs.cits.uwi.tt; 192.168.*; intranet.uwi.tt;
*.sauwi.uwi.tt
